Is it possible to change the port without a heat gun. I have the new port ready along with solder and desoldering wick and of course the soldering iron. I also have flux but not really anything else that would be useful apart from tweezers. I've noticed everyone using heat guns and was wondering how I could just melt the solder with just the soldering iron.

It would be very difficult without prior experience or just using the heat gun. You run the risk of pulling pads off the board if you don’t use heat. I would recommend using a heat gun Lowes, Home Depot, or even Harbor Freight. They should be around $30-40 dollars. If that isn’t possible, you would want to remove the solder from the anchor points, which are the four points on the sides of the port that connect to the board. After that you’d want to remove solder from the pads. Even then you still may not be able to get all of the solder off, which would mean when you try to pull off the piece it might still rip off some of the pads. It’s generally a low success rate without a heat gun.
