Water fill level sensor

Water fill level sensor failed. I have ‘the replacement part' . . . company assured me it was the correct part.

I sort of understand how to replace it, but I don't want to further disable my washer. It still runs if I manually fill water. Any advice would help.

Hey Cathie.

Unable to get confirmation on step by step instructions for your repair (haven’t worked on your model, personally), but from what info is available, replacement of your water level switch looks fairly simple.

Part appears to be located on the back of the washer. Unplug washer and move it out so you can work on it. Remove the large back panel (not the control panel back). You should see the existing water level switch (upper left area, viewed from the back). Note how the wiring and the air tube is connected, and proceed to remove both from the old part. Then remove the mounting screws that hold the part in place, and carefully remove it from the washer frame. Place the new part in the correct position and secure it in place with the mounting screws. Reconnect the wires.

At this point I’d like to be able to say reconnect the air tube, but it would be smart to ensure there’s nothing restricting the air flow inside the tube, first. Again, can’t see exactly where the other end of this tube connects to provide further or specific instruction, but you may be able to see, and thus access that end connection. If you can, you simply want to disconnect it so you can ensure the air can flow thru the tube without obstruction (just blow air thru it), then reconnect it (both ends). Once the tube is refitted in place you can replace the back panel and put the washer back in place. Plug it up and you’re ready to give it a whirl.

Hope this might help. Good luck.
