Hey all! My LG EG9600 OLED Tv has been working great for 3 years but over the past 3 days has quickly developed a flashing left hand side (with the right side still working, showing whatever was selected). However, the remote wouldnt control anything other than power on and off. 3 days later, the display when powered on will only flicker a green display (then back to black) repeatedly on the left side while the right side stays black. Remote continues to only be able to turn it on or off. I'm betting a power supply has gone bad, or mabe more? Hope to find a low cost fix! Thanks everyone. Yeah I just retired from the Navy, so not looking to buy a new super expensive Tv!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Would a simple fix be to replace the T-con board then?

by

All of the connections to the T-con board seemed to be intact. I’ve included a few pictures, as I removed that board. thinking perhaps I should reinstall it and see if anything changes, and if not, find and order a replacement one?

by

Unless we would have a schematic for yuor T-con board we really do not know if it is okay. Remember that you really cannot see failed components unless there is a catastrophic failure. I'd get a cheap used t-con board to at least check it out. Use a multimeter and check the voltages from the power board to the main board and see if those correspond with what is printed on the board.

Any recommendations on where to find a used one?

by

Looks like this is a common error. Checked my usual sources and if it is available, it is not cheap.

@mcmhley

if at all possible post some images of what your screen looks like. Adding images to an existing question

This could be a panel issue, a T-con board issue or a main board issue. I would suggest to check the cable ends from the T-con board to the panel.

Update (06/25/2019)

T-con board solder defects as well as broken connectors can definitely look like this

Just added the image. The left side just flashes a solid reddish/pink and green solid pattern, while the right stays black.

You think replacing the T-con board will fix this?

by

@mcmhley got to start somewhere and this is the most logizla place. After that it gets complicated and expensive (like a new panel etc.)

by

Ok, i'll open up the back, find the t-con board and order a replacement off ebay. Isit easy to ID from pictures?

by

@mcmhley yes it is and if you have the back off from your TV add some pictures to your question.
