Xiaomi Mi phone led blinking and dead

Hi everyone ..

i have Mi Play phone.. and suddenly turn off and wont turn on ..when i plug in the charger ,the led goes on for about 6 s ,then off for 2 s .. and repeat this.

I tried :

  • press power button with up/down button .
  • plug off the battery , connect charger then plug in battery.

Please help me..

If the white LED is blinking first leave it for charging for 15 minutes(roughly) or more if it does not work leave it and discharge completely and repeat. If none of those work plug it to your PC if it makes a sound try flashing it or visit a professional.

@ahmadhs …. there could be multiple reasons your phone is not turning on. this could be a short on your main which branches to your charging of the battery, a bad battery that does not hold or receive voltage or a bad charging port or charger. without a multimeter, usb ammeter among other tools, you will never know which of the components is the underlying issue. do you have these tools? are you able to purchase/borrow? if so, post back here for some troubleshooting assistance…if not, please take to a local professional for diagnostics/repair.

actually i have a multimeter but it's not working..

and there're no open stores for this stuff now because of corona virus .. all the devices stores are closed now .

@jostewcrew let's assume that the charger and charging port are good..

is there any way to check the battery without tools?

and what else could be the problem if the battery working ?

@ahmadhs ....assuming its not the battery, assuming its not the port....its a short circuit. There is no confirmation of the issue without voltage readings. With that being said...you may get lucky and can spot a shorted component after stripping down the device

@jostewcrew the thing is my multimeter is too old i thought it wont work.. so i tried on the battery and it showed 3.8 or 4 v ..so it's not the battery ..right?

is there any way to charge the battery without using usb port?

to check if the problem from the port or not.

So your battery will have the working voltage printed on the battery. Usually 3.7 to 4.2...the upper being fully charged and the lower being depleted. Anything lower would indicate a dead battery. You can force charge the battery with a power supply, if you have one i can walk you through it but its your own risk.

Don't worry some time usb charger not charge the phone properly or battery conjunctions is very hight due to data fluctuations.

Change your charger immediately and try charge your phone battery.

  1. Within seconds red lights is off after connected the charger.
  2. Repeatedly connect your charger until red starting blink on phone speedy
  3. After few seconds or a minute light going to blink slowly.
  4. Try this method repeatedly after few minutes press the on/off button you can check your bettry is showing 1% charged and please do not on the phone until battery shoul not charged 100% .

In this case your battery was discharge negatively.

Please keep in your mind after done above process still phone start then please replace your battery or contact local technician or authorized center.

bro u saved me and my phone:)) i used a chinese charger and used my phone while it was charging and at 0%, then it turned off and wouldn't turn on. and the led would blink. after repeatedly plugging my charger in and out of my phone it turned on :D thansk again

i dont know if i did something wrong but my phone didnt work mi 9t pro it was blinnking firstly and then stopped blinking and my phone woldny turn on after 3 minutes should i do more ?

I tried many different chargers, no dice. All i could get was white blinking LED on my Mi 6x.

Then i plugged it into my laptop and boom! white blinking for a few seconds then the screen comes breifly on to show flat bat.

Now solid white LED, and if i press the power button the screen comes on to show flat bat.

Now 1-2 mins later starts into some pre-boot, shows charging 0% and the power button boots it again. So give lots of different chargers a go, especially a computer.

I had the same issue after my phone was dipped in water for 1 minute,i immediately turned it off,Dried it and after 1 day phone stared working and phone battery showed around 50 percent.okay i used as usual.When battery drained i realized,my phone was not charging even if i plug it in original charger,I removed the back case,unscrewed the covers and using isopropyl alcohol is cleaned ics related to charger with ear buds.Then when i connected all back white led was blinking not turning on,I kept the phone connected to charger and went for a bath.When i came back the phone was on :D

For those who still can't turn on their phone: I find 2 kinds of solution.

1. Mentioned above, battery and charger problem.

2. Xiaomi phones seems to have this problem with so called CPU reballing. I did on my phone when method no 1 didn't help me. And it works. The problem is with method no2 is that it is hard to do and only as last option. I did it because there was no other option and I kinda need my memories back. I also don't have the option to buy a new phone. If I'm going to buy a new phone, never Xiaomi phone again. I'll go with Samsung even if it is over price. I'm also interested with Sharp's Aquos line up. They're not famous but since it's from Japan, it seems promising.

You also could buy a realme phone or an oppo phone, they have great customization and good Custom Rom developing!.

Also im trying to use this methods with an old RN8 (redmi note 8), it only blinks a white led, I really hope I can get the phone back.
