Hi,
Here’s an image taken from the Motorola Moto Z2 Force Motherboard Replacement guide showing the location of the antennae connections.
This should help you to check both ends are securely inserted

I checked the connection, they seem fine. I have another Moto Z2 Force at my disposal for parts. Would it be worthwhile to switch the cables? On a separate note, the phone boot is a bit laggy
Hi,
It never hurts to swap parts if you have them available as the least it does is eliminate it as a possible cause of the problem if it still doesn't work OK.
Try using the phone as close as possible to the router and check if you get a WiFi signal. This at least proves that the WiFi is working and that it is an antenna problem.
Try starting the phone in safe mode and check the boot time.
If it boots up OK then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem.
You will have to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one and check the phone in normal mode between each uninstall until it boots OK. When it does then the last downloaded app that was uninstalled was the culprit.
Also try wiping the cache partition and check if that speeds up boot time
