Why does my Sharp TV have sound and can see menus but no show picture?

I have a 58” Sharp Roku LCD TV. I get sound, but no picture under certain circumstances. I get no picture from things plugged into the HDMI ports. But I do get all the built-in Roku navigation screens and can get into Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, and can navigate their menus and see the previews, but when I select a show to watch, it only gives me a black screen but I do get sound.

What's going on with this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@cashonly this can be a firmware issue as well as a main board or T-con board issue. The onboard menu etc is programed on an IC on your main board whereas the picture requires a connection to the board. It is most likely that the error is in that part of the circuitry on the main board.. Try different inputs and see if that changes anything. Something like a local source (DVD,BR, Game Console) etc. OR you can start off by disconnecting absolutely everything from your TV. Teh n unplug the TV and hold the power button down for a minute or so. Alternatively you can leave the set unplugged for a short while 5-10min will do. Than connect one local video source and plug your set back in. See if that makes a difference.

For further test we would need to see your boards etc. Remove the cover and take some good pictures. Post those with your question so that we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question
