Damaged power button cable

HI,

I tried to upgrade my mid 2015 27” iMac with a SSD and broke the thin cable that connects to the power button to the power supply that runs over the left speaker.

It broke but I don’t see the other part of the cable… maybe it broke inside of the little box that houses the power button??

Any ideas how to fix this?

Can you post a few pics so we can see what you are facing. take a pic of both the back side of the power button area of the case and the loose part you do have. Adding images to an existing question

HI Dan ! I have fixit. took the power button off with an hairdryer and then open it and soldered the cable back . I tested it and it powered on the imac. It recognized the new SSD. Then I put the power button back on its place with super clue that glues everything in few seconds and now I will finish by putting the adhesives on the iMac. Do you think I need to clean the imac surface borders? I cleaned it with a plastic and it is without residues from the original apple glue so do you think i need the isopropyl alcohol? Because of Covid-19 its out off stock in all places where i live... can I use ethyl alcohol 96% instead?
