iPhone 6 black screen

Hi guys, have seen the various threads on this topic but none seem to fit my issue,

Screen originally went really dark, tried the various combo of buttons to force a reset but none helped.

Have replaced the battery and touchscreen, phone vibrates, vibrates when receiving a call but screen remains black. I’m convinced there’s an issue with the logic board, any ideas? I am considering buying another complete replacement screen in case the new one I received is faulty….

TIA

It could be the backlight circuit on the logic board that has failed. You can check this by shining a light on the screen and see if you can see an image. The other way would be to use a program called 3uTools, if there is an image on the screen it will show it. If you see an image using these techniques and you have already tried another screen it would confirm a faulty backlight circuit.

Ahaaaa, YES! Screen is on when I shine a light on it, looks like it’s asking me for iCloud passwords etc and says the fingerprint button isn’t working.

So is this terminal? Or screen related? Any way to fix it or is it for the bin? Thanks

@Phil Burton If your screen went dark and you tried a replacement screen it will defiantly be a backlight fault on the logic board but that will have nothing to do with the home button not working. The backlight circuit consists of filters, capacitors. Coil, diode and the driver ic. We don’t do many of these repairs on the 6 anymore as the cost is as much as another phone. I would double check the LCD and touch connector and make sure they are seated properly.

OK, think it's best in the bin then, great info, thanks for your help

whatever thing on the logic board that displays stuff could be bad, or the screen could be bad too. Whered the screen come from?

screen came from ‘elecstore-service’ on fleabay, also found that when the phone is plugged into my laptop, absolutely nothing happens as if the computer can’t see the phone…
