My iphone xs max mic does not work for voice memo and when call is on speaker . All other mics seem to work. I believe it is a hardware problem. Does anyone know where the voice memo mic is located?

Depending on iPhone model, there’s between 3-4 microphones in them nowadays. There’s two on the port, one in the front facing camera or ear speaker assembly for devices with FaceID, and one at the back by the rear cameras. I would imagine that voice memos uses the ones t the bottom so I would start with a charge port replacement. Just make sure you go with an OEM port because the X and above are picky when it comes to aftermarket ports.

I think that when iPhone phone call is on speaker it use the mic located near front face camera. Correct me if i am wrong
