Replaced both boards, still no display, Samsung 55UN6900

Was given this TV when it wouldn’t come on and would love to get it working. It had audio and standby light, I replaced both boards and nothing changed. I’m not sure what the next option would be as I can’t tell what is left to replace related to the LEDs, or how realistic that might be. I can’t see anything doing the flashlight test, but I may not be doing it correctly. I don’t have a working multimeter at the moment but will get a new one soon. Also, the power button cover is broken off over the power LED, (came to me that way), could this have any impact? Thanks for any help!

@huskerhawk disconnect the main board from the power board and check to see if the backlight comes on. Since you already replaced the boards it is entirely possible that this is a backlight issue (possibly failed backlight strips). Let us know what you find.

Here is a great video about the flashlight test.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I don't get anything different when I disconnect the main board.

Okay when you disconnect the main board from the power board (TV on), the backlight should turn on. Do you have a multimeter? Can you check the voltages from your power supply to your backlight LED's. Right now it sounds even more like a failed backlight strip. That's good, well not really but better than the alternative which would be a bad panel :-)

Something odd....can you post a close up of your power board?

I was wrong, there is an image with the flashlight test. I added a picture of my power board.

@huskerhawk sure sounds like your backlight now. Replacing the backlight strips is actually pretty straight forward. Just make sure that you keep the panel nice and flat so it does not flex. To find a replacement you will need teh exact model number for your TV. Something like Samsung UN55NU6900FXZA

@oldturkey03 Thanks again for your advice. I see single strips and pairs for sale for my TV, do I need a pair, or just get one and determine which one is bad?
