Desktop monitors, tried 3, wont turn on after computer froze.
Weird sound then short electrical hum. Screen froze. Manual computer restart. Can hear it but monitor is black. Monitor check on another computer. Monitor is fine. Checked cables. Blew out dust. Tried different graphics card and nothing. Monitors - tried 3- still wont come on. Which hardware part could have blown?
Is this a good question?
Hi Helen,
Which model especially the actual mainboard model name and number . Will most likely be printed right on the circuit board.
Also CPU if you know which one.
With that information we may be able to help you.
There are many possible solutions.

2 things come immediately to mind. Does your PC go through the entire boot process? By that, I mean, your fans turn, lights flash and the pc runs the BIOS that checks all the hardware(pc, memory, floppy, HD,CD/DVD and video. If your video is misconfigured in your BIOS, it could cause this problem.
Can you get into your BIOS to check this problem?
