What should I try next? Moto X4 will not power on - does not fastboot.
I found my phone powered down after a nap. I have been unable to power it back on since.
Things I’ve tried:
- Checking the charger works with another phone (my partner also has an X4).
- Cleaning the charging port of all debris.
- Charging the phone for 24 hours.
- Holding the power button down for 40 seconds.
- Holding the (-) volume button and power button down for 2 minutes.
- I replaced the battery using iFixit moto x4 battery kit. One of the connector locks has broken off so I used a dab of silicone to keep the connector in place.
- Connecting the phone to my PC seems to be the only sign of life. The audible connect is heard but the device doesn’t show a connection. However, it does show in the device manager under ports. Looking closely there are three events, one of which is a warning. I’ve copied and pasted the key information below.

I am beginning to suspect this phone is now bricked. Seems odd that this would happen during normal use. I suspected the battery was the problem initially because I’ve had this phone a few years and I have definitely noticed the battery life beginning to wain. Thanks in advance for any assistance you are able to provide.
Is this a good question?
