Battery no longer recognized

I replaced the battery in my Early 2015 13” MacBook Air running Mohave and at first everything was fine. Now the computer only turns on when plugged in and I can’t get battery status displayed. I have:

  • Installed Coconut Battery, no battery info shown
  • Reset SMC
  • Reset NVRAM/PRAM
  • Removed the battery, I can’t event get the X through the battery icon to show.
  • Deleted systempreferences.plist file

Whenever I click to show battery status in the status bar, it immediately disappears. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m hoping it’s not a logic board issue because it was working before.

Bad battery! You’ll need to return it to get a replacement!

@danj - the new battery worked for a couple of months, but now I'm back to this same problem. Do you think it's another battery or a different problem?
