Why is the water dispenser slow and the ice maker not working?

I own a GI6SDRXXY07 Whirlpool. It worked well for about six years. I replace the water filter regularly. But then the water dispenser started being slow and the ice maker stopped making ice. Do I need a new inlet valve, or should I unplug it for 24 hours in case I have ice in a water line somewhere?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi,

Here’s the tech sheet for the refrigerator that may help.

This shows how to get into the diagnostic test modes. Perform service test #25 and check the result.

The refrigerator has 3 water inlet vales. A main valve and then one each for the ice maker and the water dispenser. It takes 2 valves to operate to supply water to each component i.e. main + ice maker or main + dispenser. Given that the ice maker no longer fills and the dispenser is slow it may be the main valve.

Have you checked that the water pressure to the refrigerator is OK? According to the installation manual it needs to be between 35-120psi
