Strange screen after battery replacement

Block Image

There is a quite strange tint and vertical lines appearing on the screen after battery replacement. Is this screen physically damaged? Or is there a way to solve this?

2lt6fey5, Unfortunately, it appears that you damaged the screen while disassembling and reassembling the phone :(

You could of course try and open it up again, and then unplugging the battery (always unplug battery first). Unplug the screen and inspect the connectors closely (best under high magnification) for damage. Also inspect the components around all the connectors, as it’s fairly easy to accidentally knock loose or off components in those ares.

If everything checks out, reseat the screen connectors making absolutely sure it’s making a good connection, then plug in the battery. Before putting the phone all the way back together, turn it on and check the screen for damage and / or malfunction. If it’s still showing the same, you will need to replace the screen.

It does look like display damage to me, i'd recommend the steps Geir provided before considering it a write-off though!
