My speedometer light works intermittently

On my 2009 stock dyna streetbob the backing light for the speedometer goes out at cruising rpm. When I let off the throttle and go back to idle rpm the light comes back on. This happens consistently. All other lights, the speedometer, odometer and clock are all working correctly.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Have seen a couple different things cause this issue;

1. Bad voltage regulator

2. Wires under rear fender getting worn away by the tire and creating a short

3. Loose battery terminal connection

4. Speedometer might be going out

I'd start with the easy stuff like checking the wires tightening the battery connections/making sure the terminals aren't super corroded and go from there.

Hope this helps!
