Why not charging my battery?

@mulugetaafera what is the exact model of your laptop? This could be a charger issue (unlikely since you said it works directly. I assume you mean that your laptop works with the AC adapter plugged in. That would mean it is either the battery or the charging circuitry on your motherboard that is not charging the battery. If you have an ammeter you can connect that between your charger and your computer. With your computer off and your battery empty, your laptop should pull some amperage from the charger. If it does not, it is time to take it apart and to have a look at it. I would always start with a new battery.
