Dryer stopping and blinking lights

My kenmore dryer will work for a few minutes then stop and the three lights will start to blink. I’ve tried pressing cancel and restarting but the same happens. I’ve also tried running it on different modes/times but it keeps happening

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@mennayassin What model is the dryer?

I am having this same problem with my kenmore dryer. Were you able to identify the problem and fix this? I would be grateful for anything you learned. thank you,

I had someone come and diagnose the issue. Turns out it was the control board, and it would take 6+ months for the part to arrive. So I ended up buying a new washer/dryer.

There are a couple reasons it may shut down. The motor may be overheating. You can check by turning on the dryer and wait for it to shut down, try immediately restarting the dryer. if it wont start then wait ten minutes and try again. if it starts then more than lijkely the motor is overheating. another is a moicture sensor telling the dryer there is too much moisture in the dryer. If it will run empty without shutting down, more than likely a bad moisture sensor. A bad belt which if the drum turns its not the belt. Try the lint filter and make sure it is clean. Good luck

Mine is doing the same thing. I had it fixed but it's still doing it. I thought it was the off switch because the button was tight in the hole. I also have to turn the control button all the way around back to where I had it or put it on a different setting. Sometimes when I turn it on it will run for about a minute then stop. If I walk away from it and I don't hear it go off, I don't know if it does it anytime through the cycle or not. I was just wondering if it may be the circuit board behind it. Later I'll check the clothes and they are still damp.

Hi @gnometown

What is the model number of your dryer?
