MacBook Pro won’t turn on after battery replacement
I just replaced the battery in my MacBook Pro 15” 2016 (using the iFixit replacement battery, tools, and guide) but now it won’t turn on at all. After the replacement, I plugged it in to charge as is instructed. A battery icon popped up on the screen, indicating that it was 76% charged. I then pressed the power button, the screen turned on for a split second and then shut off. Now zero signs of life no matter what I do.
I’ve tried all the recommended fixes that I can find (SMC reset, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, etc.), and there are no visible signs of damage anywhere. At this point I’m worried that the logic board may have somehow been short circuited, but I’m not sure how that would’ve happened since I was extremely careful with my tools and there no signs of a short while I was working. Unless I scraped the logic board with the bottom case as I was putting it back on?
So I guess my questions are:
Does anyone have any idea what my be causing the computer to be dead?
Is it possible that the logic board was short circuited? What could’ve caused that?
Could this have to do with a faulty battery?
Any ideas for how to get it booted up again?
Thanks in advance for any input!
Is this a good question?
