Issue with my Battery

My laptop shut down suddenly while I was using it plugged in and it didn't turn on. The repair guy at the Asus service center said it was a mother board problem. After 1 week he called me and said your laptop is ready, but it's only working while it's plugged in, he said it is a battery issue and changing the battery will fix it.

I ordered a new battery from ifixit and installed it in my laptop, but it isn't charging it stuck at 1%.

Any one know what's the exact issue make sure to reply.
