MacBook Pro A1989 not turning on, but DFU mode is working

I have recently acquired a MacBook Pro 13" A1989 from 2018, which does not want to start. I was finally able to put the device into DFU mode, but unfortunately, whenever I try to restore the device via Apple Configurator, it just keeps disconnecting from the host device. The power button is new; it did not have one before, so I have used the debug jumper to force the device into DFU mode. But now that the new button is installed, the Mac goes into DFU using the keys on the keyboard. I do not have another Mac, so I am using VMware with the latest macOS running Apple Configurator.

Can anyone confirm if the restore option works when using VMware?

What else could hinder the Mac from starting up?

I did not find any damage. The CPU/GPU does not seem to be shorted, and the power rail shows a resistance of around 3.8 Ohms

The SSD voltage is 2.5V, and other voltages such as 3.3V, 1.8V, 0.8V, and 0.9V are present. Hence, the device can go into DFU mode

Thanks in advance and best regards from Germany!

Guten Morgen @private_name

Try using Apple Configurator 2 natively on a `MacBook instead
