Crank, no start. Found chewed wire no clue what it is or where it went

Trying to figure out what this wire is and where it goes. Might not be what's wrong with the truck, hoping it is though.

That looks like it could be off of the EGR solenoid. It also looks like you had a minor fire that caused that damage.

It might be a good idea to check the fuse box and see if you can identify if the fuse has blown due to that short that caused that connector to burn like that.

I am attaching a link to the complete wiring diagram for your model and year. This is a comprehensive guide. If possible could you take some larger pictures of the engine bay and include some photos of behind the injectors and around the distributor. and also perhaps take some either acetone or some cleaner and give us a better view of the wire colors. Its difficult to make out the exact colors i am looking for in the schematics from the pictures you posted.
