Screen burn and not turning on, is it fixable?

I'm trying to fix this Gameboy and wondered if this screen is fixable?

The Gameboy turns on and has sound, but the screen doesn't do anything and I'm not sure if screen burn can cause a screen to not show anything, or if something else is causing this.

There's were a lot of screws that were black and rotting and there is also one that I'm gonna struggle to remove under the screen also (see picture), but not sure if this would stop the screen working.

Any help would be appreciated

@worsergeor24709 the screen looks like it is delaminating and damaged. You most likely will have to replace that. Since your screws "were black and rotting" it is best if you consider removing the board and cleaning it with some isopropyl alcohol and check for any damaged components. You could be running into a corrosion issue.

To remove those stubborn screws, I usually use a Dremel or similar tool. Then I drill trough the screw just enough to drill teh head off (drill size is the diameter of the screw thread). After that remove the rest of the screw from the case with a pair of pliers. There are also screw extractors that may work for your screws

Seems like your Gameboy has had some water damage in the past, from your photos that looks like rusty screws. In that case you will need to replace the screen as it may have died of water damage or just old age. Make sure the connectors on the board are not damaged too. Good news it it seems to have power if you are able to turn it on and it makes sounds. So I think it is salvageable just needs some upgrades to put it back into working condition.
