I detached the small clip for the ribbon cable. What now?

Block Image

I detached the small white clip that holds one of the ribbon cables for the top screen.
I used some electrican tape and did my best to insert the ribbon in its slot. But apprently this isn't enough as the top screen turns on but gives no output.

What else can I do?

You are probably going to need to replace it. If you are comfortable soldering then I would suggest doing it, and if not see if you can find a repair shop to do it. You'll probably need to use hot air.

Have a great day!

@albertg87002 With replace it you mean the clip or to solder a new socket? The clip at first just detached itsself, so I tried my hardest to reposition it, but doing so eventually fully broke it.

I've unfortunately never soldered anything, nor I would feel comfortable for my first resolder to be something with solder point that small. I think I'll look for a repair shop when I can to have it replce it without discarding the whole motherboard, if they still exist. Thanks you! I wanna wait in case there are other answer before I select yours as accepted, I am a beginner afterall!

I do not think you can buy just the clip, so you'll need to replace the whole socket. I hope you can find a shop to do it! Let me know how it goes!
