GE Profile JGP975SEK1SS Cooktop Spark Electrodes

Block Image

I have the GE Profile JGP975SEK1SS cooktop and teh Spark Electrodes to light the gas have gone bad. To get to teh electrodes one needs to remove the Maintop assembly. It is held with some screws that I am able to remove but the head burner on the front left side has an element sticky out that I am unsure what it is and whether it can be safety removed. Looking at the diagram for this cooktop it could be the Screw Simmer Base Inj WB01T10093 / AP3868728 but I am unsure. And not sure what to use to remove it.

Hi @lakerfan

I think that the component that you're referring to is the remnants of something that looks like part # WB13K10014 (part # 154 on the parts diagram)

Here's a video that shows how to replace that part if that is what it is.

The torx head screw (part ID 122/ part # WB01T10093) is on the opposite side to what you've highlighted

Here are some images of what I think are the 3 components in the top of the burner

Search online for the part number to find suppliers that suit you best.

Thanks for the link to the video. Did not realize you could pop off the ignitor without removing the top. That was great help. Thanks again!!
