Why does my phone wont turn on?

One day i left my phone on charge for around 2 hours and when i came back the phone screen was not responsive for some time. Then the next day i tried using my phone, the touch was unresponsive. Then i gave my phone to a local phone repair. They said "the board is burned". What can i do know to fix it? Will a mother board swap work?
