Logitech G533 Headphones doesnt work without USB cable

Block Image

My headphones don't work without the USB cable.

After disassembling the headphones, I found that the red wire was disconnected.

That's why I re-soldered it.

After soldering, it will light up when I plug in the USB cable, but when I unplug it, it won't work again.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@mnkquqlvamire0y we will need a bigger and focused images of your repair. Right now the image is 672x369 and can't be viewed by zooming it. Try again just with a bigger picture.

If works with USB but not without. IS that a correct statement? Why did you need to repair the original wiring? what happened to it?

@mnkquqlvamire0y okay so your headset has issues with the wireless but functions in USB mode. Good. Now let's see if we can find a solution.

Hi @mnkquqlvamire0y

If it works when the USB cable is connected but doesn't work when the USB cable is disconnected, it sounds like there's a problem with the battery in the headphones.

Either it is not being charged when the USB cable is connected or it has failed.

If you have a DMM (digital multimeter) you can disconnect the USB cable and then open the headphones and check what the voltage on the battery is.

Here's the ifixit Logitech G533 Battery Replacement guide, that will help.

Unplug the battery from the board and then measure the voltage between the red and black wires on the battery cable plug. It should be approx. 3.7V DC if the battery is fully charged.

If it is a lot less than this consider replacing the battery and check if it charges OK and if the headphones work without a USB cable connected.

Search for 533-000132 battery to find suppliers that suit you best.
