Hi Charles!

An harddrive which is making a ticking sound, is starting to get bad and will die eventually… this is caused by the mechanic parts inside the harddrive (I think it’s the arm it self, please correct me if I’m wrong).

The best thing to do is to back up everything from this drive as soon as possible (if this is not done already).

Then replace the harddrive. I recommend to replace it for an SSD which is way faster, using less power, and weight less.
