Why is my screen neon and flickering

My MacBook screen now has neon/inverted colors all over and there’s a slight flickering or shakiness of the screen. But when I put my screen down close to the keyboard then the screen goes back to normal but when I lift it back up halfway and eventually all the way, the screen goes back to flickering neon. How do I fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Not good!😫

The display ribbon cables have become damaged, this will require a new display as the ribbon cables can’t be replaced. You might find someone really skilled in micro soldering who could patch the cable.

But I’ll worn you this patch won’t last as you flex the lid and the cause of the damage could be a hard plastic shell or even a paper clip sitting near the hinge area which damages the glass chin plate.

This plate covers the cables to the LCD panel a glass shard often cuts the cable. If you live with a lot of grit in the air or get sand into the hinge area both can wear the cables as well.
