home button not working

i have an iphone se 2nd generation and ive just changed the battery myself obviously not supplied by apple, since then the phone tells me its not an original battery but also the home button does not work. ive tried all the usual things ie restart etc and ive done the assistive touch thing to get the on screen button, is there a way to get the actual home button to work or is this just a permanent thing as a punishment from apple? cheers derek
