Charging when unplugged DS4 (JDM - 055)

So i bought a defective DS4. It has no power but then I replaced the battery and it turns out the battery was just drained and the port started lighting up as if it is charging. I replaced the flex cable and the port, which still lights up and shows charging.

It's also not gaining any energy when charging and doesn't show any changes in the light when plugged.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi XeeR!

So when the PS4 controller is connected to the charger, you can see the orange light pulsing, right?

At this moment, click on the PS button to turn it on. If nothing happens and you still see the orange light pulsing. Check the Button Circuit Membrane. It's possible that the PS button isn't doing anything or is not working.

Guide for this: DualShock 4 (CUH-ZCT1U) Button Circuit Membrane Replacement

Please let us know how it goes and good luck!

Hi bro, I've already checked and replaced the conductive film, and I tested all the buttons using https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad website, and all the buttons are working, including the ps button. I tried to open it again this morning and it's still the same.

Hi! Okay, so it does connect with the PC. Does it also connect with the PS4? When you click the PS button it should connect with the PS4 (when the cable is in). So does it work when connected with the cable?

@dan0 unfortunately, i only have ps5. I was only planning to use this ds4 for my PC, but i haven't tried it on my console yet.

Alright, I would try that first and see what happens. It also could be that the replacement battery is faulty as well and need to be replaced. If it works on the cable only, then it probably is battery related.
