Is it hard to clean this device
I bought a used one from ebay and I wanted to know which parts I should clean most. How deep into the phone do I need to get to mostly clean it?

Why do you think that it is dirty inside and needs cleaning?
Does it appear to have been dropped or gotten wet at all?
Check the status of the LDI - liquid damage indicator to see if water has entered the phone or not. Click on Liquid or corrosion evidence.
If the LDI is showing that no water has entered i.e. hasn't changed to all pink colour, then cleaning the inside most probably isn't necessary.
If you wish to clean the outside, try using a lint fee cloth lightly moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (available from electronic parts stores) to gently clean it. Never use the same part of the cloth twice when cleaning, i.e. wipe an area once and then if it needs more cleaning do it again with a clean section of cloth. Also do not make the cloth dripping wet, lightly moistened only. Do this with the phone switched off
If the LDI is showing that water has entered, here's a teardown video that may help.
I suggest that you disconnect the battery from the board as soon as it is accessible to minimize any electrical problems from occurring when further dismantling the phone to clean it - see 2:06 minutes into the video.
