Why does my display dim when I remove ac adapter after charging?

Display is bright until I remove ac adapter. Then it dims. Can't figure out what setting might need to be changed.

HI Cbabb750,

Brightness Controls: Ensure the laptop's brightness controls (usually function keys) are set to maximum.

Ambient Light Sensor: If your laptop has an ambient light sensor, it might be adjusting the brightness automatically. Disable it temporarily to check if it's the culprit.

Dell QuickSet Utilities: If installed, check for any relevant settings in Dell QuickSet.

Check your power options settings. Windows often has profiles for "Plugged in" and "On battery." Ensure the brightness level is satisfactory for both.

To access: Control Panel -> Power Options -> Edit Plan Settings -> Change Advanced Power Settings.

If you're comfortable, you could open the laptop and inspect the display cable connection.

Unfortunately, i am fairly confident that there may be no way to fix this in software if you are using Mac or windows, but I may be wrong. The reason for this is to lengthen battery life. Hope that helps!
