MagSafe is backwards compatible with QI 1 wireless charging. If the phone doesn't stick to a magsafe charger, then the magnets are missing. If it also doesn't charge using any wireless charger, then the coil is damaged and needs to be replaced.

Hi,

The wireless charging coil is most likely damaged when the broken pieces of the back glass are removed or the coil is removed completely. Your iPhone has several magnets glued on the back glass, which need to be transferred to the new one before installation. Make sure not to flip the magnets when you glue them to the new glass; otherwise, your iPhone won't hold on to the MagSafe.
