How to fix an unresponsive trackpad and keyboard

I’ve replaced the cable twice trying to fix an unresponsive trackpad and keyboard on my 2015 MB Air 13.5. I believe I ordered one of the cables from this website. Would a faulty trackpad affect the keyboard?

In this model the cable from the trackpad the logic board carries both the trackpad and keyboard signals. So if the trackpad’s interface logic within it is damaged then yes both the trackpads and keyboard signals won’t make it through. This is a common issue when the trackpad has gotten a spill and the liquid has corroded or shorted out the logic.
