Joycons not docking after using Joycon Toolkit

Hi,

I recently reshelled my Joycons and they were working great! I saw a video online showing how to make the UI display reflect the reshelled joycons by using an application Joycon Toolkit. I backed up my SPI and updated the color. It showed that on the Switch and connected wirelessly. However, I can't use it docked anymore!! It does not register as being attached in handheld mode. This is NOT a ribbon issue, I have taken apart my Switch and nothing is disconnected. This is a firmware issue I cannot find a solution for.

So far I have:

Backed up the SPI and restored all settings to original

Updated the joycons

Restarted the Switch

Disconnected/Reconnected all joycons

Cleaned rail

Like everything. What do I Do???? And how did this even happen to avoid in the future? Thank you to anyone who can help me!!!!!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Emma!

I also use the JoyCon Toolkit to re-program the colors and it does work all the time.

When you did restored your SPI, it should be just as the original again. What is the current firmware version for the joycons?

Now, important to know is, are other joycon controllers working fine with the Switch as well as docked as in wireless?

If yes, then it must be the joycon. If nothing is working, why not replacing the joycon it's rail? It's most likely in there and a great way to troubleshoot.

Please let us know how it goes!
