Why does it keep saying load paper when I have several times

I have a hp all in one printer scanner copier that started doing the same thing a couple days ago. There is a sensor at the bottom of the paper tray that was the problem with mine. Not having any spare parts i found it was cheaper to buy another printer.

My HP OfficeJet does that when the pickup roller fails to grab a sheet of paper. Cleaning the rollers may help.
