3DS doesn’t boot into HOME menu
Hey! I have a 3DS that doesn’t boot into the HOME menu.
It is stuck on a black screen with the power light on, green ‘3D’ symbol, and the WIFI light with a dim backlight on.
Sometimes, however, it does boot after waiting 5 minutes or so. The Home menu seems fine and everything works as intended. The Home menu also isn’t slow or anything. It’s just having problems loading into the Home menu when I press power. Trying to load recovery mode with L+R+A+Up doesn’t work either. Pressing L+R+Down+B to clear the Home menu data brings up the menu as intended, so the bottom screen seems to be working fine.
This is definitely a hardware related issue in my opinion as it does this with or without an SD card in. My question is, what could be causing this?
Is this a good question?
Hi!
Is the 3DS up to date?? Could be a lot of things. Is the 3DS modded? Does everything work fine when it’s fully booted?

@dan0 hi! The 3DS is not modded. It is up to date. And everything works when it is fully booted. I tested out all of the functions, cameras, 3D, sound, microphone, buttons, etc. It just takes 5-6 minutes to boot or just never boots at all and stays on the black screen.

Hmmm.. could be a lot of things. Did you tested the wifi card? This one can cause some weird issues.

@dan0 I did test it and it seems to be good. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. When the system is on, it does connect to WiFi fine too.

Usually this is some ribbon cable related. Can also be a motherboard or screen issue. Did you checked the motherboard and all other ribbon cables?
