Kenmore 110-series Washing Machine Not Working

Yesterday, my 110-series Kenmore washng machine stopped working mid-cycle. That has happened once before, a couple of years ago, but the fix isn't working.

Luckily, it stopped in the middle of the final rinse so I took all the clothes out, sucked out as much water as I could with a wet/dry vac and left it unplugged for several hours. When I plugged it back in, the sensing light was flashing continuously. I held down the reset button for 30 seconds, the light went out, but then the machine started humming. It didn't reset. Nothing that I did would elicit a response. I couldn't get it to go into diagnostic mode at all.

Ideas? If it's a main board issue, I'll probably just replace the washer and dryer with something new, but I'd prefer to not do so if it's an easy fix. The last time this happened, the 30-second reset button fixed it and it's run like a champ ever since until yesterday.

Thanks.

Cephus, Sears sells dozens of different machines from different manufacturers under the "Series 110" model numbers. We need the rest of the model number after the 110 part in order to figure out exactly which washer you have and thus be able to help you.

Hi @cephus

Here's the tech sheet for the washer.

Perform Test #1 as seen on p.12 of the guide, to check if the Control board is functioning OK.

If the control board is faulty the part number is W10480184 (examples only) Search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

You may be able to find a used or refurbished board for a lot less than a new washer

It looks like the main board, got no voltage at all on J2. No big deal, I'll buy a new one. I don't want a refurbished board and the new ones cost almost as much as a new machine. Thanks for your help/
