Beginning in 2017, the laptop was released with AMD's 7th-generation A-series FX, A12, or A10 APUs paired with a Radeon RX550 GPU and Intel's Core i5 or Core i7 processors paired with an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. Since then, newer models of the laptop have been released with more up-to-date graphics cards and processors, including the Intel Core i9 and newer NVIDIA RTX and AMD graphics cards. Released in 2020, the Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52 was a more recent model that included several features and enhancements over the previous generations, like the introduction of the ‘Quad Exhaust’ cooling system consisting of vents for the cooling fans on each side of the laptop to deal with the overheating issues.
