Background

The zv5000 comes standard with a single-core Intel Pentium 4 processor with 256MB of system RAM. Pre-installed, the HP Pavilion runs Windows XP as the operating system. The 15 inch wide-screen LCD display has a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. The track-pad comes with a standard feature of a side-scroll for user comfort. It also boosted a longer battery life from the previous model. This model also includes 3 USB ports.

The zv5000 was replaced by the dv4000 in May of 2005.

Identification

HP released the base model Pavilion zv5000 in 2004 which is easily identified by the characteristic HP logo centered on the outer shell as well as on the bottom center of the screen's shell. The upper right hand corner of the keyboard should say "HP Pavilion zv5000" to distinguish it from other similar models. The outer shell is a gray color and has a black keyboard and a black inner trim.
