HM1203C

The Makita Jack Hammer model HM1203C is a corded electric demolition hammer manufactured in Japan. This model weighs about 20 pounds and operates at 95 decibels, which is relatively quiet for power breakers.

The HM1203C model features a 14 Amp motor that delivers 18.8 foot-pounds (or 25.5 joules) of energy per blow. This jackhammer has variable speed controls and can operate at 950 to 1900 blows per minute. Constant speed control also automatically applies more power to the motor to retain the same speed under loads. It also includes a soft-start function that suppresses the start-up reaction for increased user control. The HM1203C model does not include vibration control. It is designed with the “Makita Motor Advantage” which includes dual ball bearing armature, interlocking steel laminations, and large surface commutator. These features are designed to improve tool life and energy transfer.

The HM1203C also includes an LED service/power indicator that indicates cord damage or a switch failure and alerts the user up to eight hours before the hammer’s brushes need to be replaced. This model accepts 1-1/8” Hex Bits and has 12 bit angle settings to allow the user to set the bit at different positions.

The Makita Jack Hammer model HM1203C can be identified by the name “Makita” printed in lowercase letters on the side of the machine. The hammer is generally black with either teal or green accents.
