Background
Released on November 15, 2023, the PlayStation Portal is a portable, handheld player, that allows users to stream games from their PlayStation 5 console over Wi-Fi. This allows users to jump into their games without needing to play on a TV, or needing to be in the same room as their PlayStation 5. The Portal cannot play games natively—it merely acts as a screen and controller for the PlayStation 5.
The Portal has an eight-inch 1080p LCD screen with non-removable DualSense controllers on each side. Unlike the DualSense controller, the joysticks are modular and replaceable without requiring any soldering.
Identification
The PlayStation Portal's model number is CFI-Y1001. The model number is printed on the back side of the Portal, near the bottom edge.
The Portal's 16-digit serial number is printed underneath the model number. It's also encoded into the QR code to the left of the printing.
