Take care not to deform or puncture the battery—a damaged battery is a potential safety hazard.

Firmly secure the frame with one hand, and use your free hand to pry up the battery with the opening pick. Keep steady pressure on the pick for one minute.

If you're having trouble, try using a plastic card or two picks side by side to get more leverage.

If the battery really isn't budging, apply a few drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) to the left edge of the battery, elevate the left edge of your phone, and wait one minute for the adhesive to soften.

Once the adhesive begins to separate, slide your pick deeper under the battery and continue prying it up.
