Place the jacket in the washing machine and add the detergent

There are two types of recommended detergents:

Detergents designed specifically for the washing of technical outdoor gear that can be purchased at most outdoor gear stores

Water-based (not oil-based), biodegradable liquid detergent free of dye, whiteners, brighteners, or fragrance. Many of these detergents are marketed as " for sensitive skin"

More than one technical garment can be washed at once, but do not exceed more than half of the size of the washing machine drum

Only use the bare minimum amount of detergent needed. Excess detergent clogs the pores of the waterproof membrane and interferes with DWR function
