sev.keys like O,P, E and a couple others work and then stop working. I shut it down and they don’t work, shut it down and then they do work for a lil while…v.frustrating. Have tried a couple fixes on internet forums to no avail…any suggestions appreciated.and yes keys are clean, light use of computer even though sev.yrs.old…thx.

The keyboard may have to be replaced as when trying to repair a keyboard you can create more problems that what you had before you started.
Here’s a link to the service manual for your laptop. Scroll to p.70 to view the part numbers and then the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to replace the keyboard.
To find a supplier of the keyboard for your particular laptop, search online using the appropriate part number only in the search box of your browser to get results. You may be able to verify whether you have the correct part number as mostly the part number is printed on the back of the keyboard.
In the interim until you get it fixed, plug in a USB keyboard to the laptop and use it instead.
