new battery but screen black
when i turn the camera on the lens comes out but the screen stays black brand new battery fully charged

ric, try to hold down the menu key, turning it on and off and resetting the menu options. "Press the "Menu" button. Press the right arrow once to highlight the "Setup" menu. Press the down arrow five times to select "Reset All." Press the "Set" button. Press the right arrow button once to select "OK." Press "Set." from here.
If that does not work,check the flex connector on your LCD. Here is the guide for the LCD screen. You may have to replace the LCD. Hope this helps, good luck
