It sounds like the laptop is not reading DVDs. There are a couple things you can do to fix this issue: (1) There are CD/DVD cleaning tools available. If the disc works in other players but not in the laptop, you can get a cleaning disc for the CD/DVD drive. This disc will attempt to clean the optical laser inside the drive. If there are clicking or screeching noises coming from the laptop while it is running, your hard disk drive may be failing.
