Hello iFixit community!

I’m a third-year civil engineering student at California State University, Los Angeles. Born and raised in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, I draw my greatest inspiration from my community as I work toward becoming the first in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree.

My educational journey began at a Catholic parish grade school that focused on supporting students from low-income neighborhoods. My dedication to social service and community involvement has shaped who I am, and I’ve been proud to serve as a confirmation catechist and youth group leader at my church for over four years.

At Cal State LA, I’ve embraced opportunities for growth and leadership. I work as a Peer Leader in the First Year Connections office, helping freshmen navigate college life and connect with campus resources.

Repair Experience

I have some repair experience, mostly from helping family and friends with small household fixes that I enjoy being apart of!

Accolades

I’ve received a volunteer and leadership award from Catholic Charities for 2022/2023 and earned dean’s list honors during my first two years at Cal State LA. I also hold an MOS Excel certificate and have earned dean’s list honors during my first two years at Cal State LA.

Groups/Memberships

I’m part of several business clubs at my school, as well as the STEM Advantage program, which prepares students for career readiness in the STEM field by providing mentorships.

Hobbies

In my spare time, I enjoy rewatching nostalgic shows from my childhood.

How iFixit Project Relates to Me

The projects I assessed and contributed to on the iFixit website were meaningful to me. They’ve sparked my interest in hands-on problem-solving and helped me appreciate the value of making repairs accessible, which I hope to incorporate into my personal and professional growth.
