Drone will not power up
Drone indicator lights not illuminating and is unresponsive.
Power switch is not turned on
Ensure the Drone power switch is in the ON position.
Battery pack is not connected
If the battery pack is not connected or connected poorly, the drone will not power on.
To ensure the battery pack is connected properly:
- Open Dronium III battery compartment.
- Remove and unplug battery if installed. (If battery pack is not installed skip this step.)
- Connect battery pack connector to drone connector ensuring the correct orientation.
- Ensure the connection is tight and secure.
- Insert battery pack into the battery compartment.
- Close battery compartment.
Battery pack is dead/insufficiently charged
If the battery pack is dead or insufficiently charged, the drone will not have enough power to respond or illuminate lights.
To charge the battery pack:
- Open Dronium III battery compartment.
- Remove and unplug battery if installed. (If battery pack is not installed skip this step.)
- Connect battery pack connector to the battery charger connector ensuring the correct orientation.
- Ensure the connection is tight and secure.
- Connect charger to a USB port.
The battery charger indicator light will remain off during charging but will illuminate when the battery pack is fully charged.
Controller will not power up
Red indicator light not illuminated and is unresponsive.
Power switch is not turned on
Ensure the controller power switch is in the ON position.
Controller batteries are not installed properly or missing
If the batteries in the controller are missing or not installed properly, the controller will not receive power.
To install batteries into controller:
- Remove controller battery compartment cover using a Philips-head screwdriver.
- Remove the batteries from the compartment. (If batteries are not installed skip this step.)
- Insert four (4) 'AA' batteries in the correct orientation. (A diagram of correct battery orientation is provided inside the controller battery compartment.)
- Install the controller battery compartment cover and tighten the screw using a Philips-head screwdriver.
Controller batteries are dead/insufficiently charged
If the controller batteries are dead or insufficiently charged, the controller will not have enough power to respond or illuminate lights.
To replace dead or insufficiently charged batteries:
- Remove controller battery compartment cover using a Philips-head screwdriver.
- Remove the dead or insufficiently charged batteries from the compartment.
- Insert four (4) new 'AA' batteries in the correct orientation. (A diagram of correct battery orientation is provided inside the controller battery compartment.)
- Install the controller battery compartment cover and tighten the screw using a Philips-head screwdriver.
Controller will not connect to the drone
Drone is unresponsive to the controller.
Controller is not turned on
Ensure the controller power switch is in the ON position.
- Red indicator should illuminate.
- If the red indicator light does not illuminate, follow the Controller will not power up section of this guide.
Drone is not turned on
Ensure the Drone power switch is in the ON position.
- Drone lights should illuminate and begin to flash.
- If the lights on the drone do not illuminate, follow the Drone will not power up section of this guide.
- If the lights on the drone illuminate but do not flash, ensure there are no other controllers (Including moble device WIFI controls) on and synced to the drone.
Drone is synced to another controller
The drone will only sync to one controller at a time. The drone will only respond to the controller it is synced to.
To check if a controller is synced to the drone:
- When the drone is on, observe if the drone lights are solid or flashing.
- If drone lights are flashing, the drone is not synced to a controller.
- If the drone lights are solid, the drone is synced to a controller.
To un-sync other controllers from the drone:
- Turn off all controllers until the lights on the drone begin to flash.
- Turn off Control setting on the Mobile Device WIFI controller.
- If unable to find the synced controller, turn the drone off for ten (10) seconds then back on.
- The drone should reset and begin to flash the drone lights.
Sync controller to the drone
A controller must be synced to drone for the drone to operate.
To sync controller to the drone:
- Turn on the Dronium III.
- Turn on the controller.
- Ensure there are no other controllers synced to the drone.
- Move the Throttle Control stick on the controller to the forward position, then immediately to the back position.
- Release the Throttle Control stick so that it returns to the center position.
If synced properly, the controller will make an audible beep sound and the drone lights will stop flashing and remain solid.
Drone will not launch
Drone is not turned on
Ensure the Drone power switch is in the ON position.
- Drone lights should illuminate and begin to flash.
- If the lights on the drone do not illuminate, follow the Drone will not power up section of this guide.
Controller is not turned on
Ensure the controller power switch is in the ON position.
- Red indicator should illuminate.
- If the red indicator light does not illuminate, follow the Controller will not power up section of this guide.
Controller is not synced to the drone
To check if a controller is synced to the drone:
- When the drone is on, observe if the drone lights are solid or flashing.
- If drone lights are flashing, the drone is not synced to a controller.
- If the drone lights are solid, the drone is synced to a controller.
- If the drone is not synced to the controller, follow the Controller will not connect to the drone section of this guide, referring to the steps in Sync controller to the drone.
Blade motors have not been activated
To activate the blade motors:
- Make sure the Drone and controller are on and synced.
- Move the Throttle Control stick and Directional Control stick to the lower right (Throttle Control) and lower left (Directional Control) where the blue marks are.
- If done properly, the controller will make an audible beep sound and blade motors will begin to spin on drone.
Battery pack will not charge
Battery pack not properly connected to charger
If the battery pack is not properly connected, the USB Charger will be delivering power but the battery pack will not receive power.
To ensure the battery pack is properly connected to charger:
- Connect battery pack connector to the battery charger connector ensuring the correct orientation.
- Ensure the connection is tight and secure.
USB charger is not plugged in properly
If the USB charger is not properly connected to the USB port, the battery will not receive power.
To ensure the USB charger is connected properly:
- Plug the battery pack into the battery charger in the correct orientation.
- Plug in the USB charger to a USB port in the correct orientation.
- Ensure the USB charger to USB port connection is correct and tight.
- The battery charger indicator light will remain off during charging but will illuminate when the battery pack is fully charged.
If all else is functioning correctly, battery pack should be replaced.
To replace the battery pack see the repair guide Protocol Dronium III AP Battery Pack Replacement
Mobile device will not connect
WIFI network from the drone not found
The drone emits its own WIFI when turned on.
To access the WIFI from the drone
- Open nearby WIFI window on the mobile device.
- If you do not see the WIFI network, exit and re-enter the WiFi window in your device.
- If you still do not see the WIFI network, turn the drone off, wait one (1) minute, and turn the drone on.
- Repeat steps for how to access the WIFI from the drone.
- Select the Dronium III WIFI network

- Drone lights should illuminate and begin to flash.
- If the lights on the drone do not illuminate, follow the Drone will not power up section of this guide.
- If the lights on the drone illuminate but do not flash, ensure there are no other controllers (Including moble device WIFI controls) on and sync'ed to the drone.
Make sure the battery pack is fully charged and insert into drone.
Connection with mobile device is lost
If the connection between the mobile device and the drone is lost, camera feed and synced controls will be terminated.
To restore connection between after the drone and the mobile device after WIFI was lost:
- Open nearby WIFI window on the mobile device.
- If you do not see the WIFI network, exit and re-enter the WiFi window in your device.
- Repeat steps for how to access the WIFI from the drone.
- Select the Dronium III WIFI network.
To prevent WIFI connection loss between the drone and the mobile device:
- Fly the drone in areas that have minimal obstructions that can block a clear path of the WIFI.
